POZ facilities

Primary health care (POZ) is provided throughout the country in facilities that have an agreement with the National Health Fund. Patients can choose a doctor, nurse, or midwife by filling out a declaration at the facility or electronically. The change is free of charge twice a year. Any subsequent change is subject to a fee. POZ facilities treat the most common illnesses. The doctor can write prescriptions for medicines, and make referrals for tests or to specialists.
