The obligation to perform technical inspections applies to each owner of a motor vehicle, agricultural tractor, slow-moving vehicle included in a tourist train, moped, or trailer. The tests are performed by authorised diagnosticians at vehicle inspection stations. The diagnostician checks the technical condition of the vehicle. If the result of the examination is positive, the diagnostician makes an entry in the vehicle registration certificate. If defects are found, depending on the type of defect, the diagnostician may issue a certificate of a negative technical test result and oblige the owner to remove the defect and conduct a new test for the defects found. In the case of dangerous defects, the diagnostician shall retain the vehicle’s registration certificate.
