As part of the emergency medical care system in Poland there are
Emergency departments – hospital emergency wards.
They provide assistance in emergencies that threaten life or health (e.g. accidents, poisoning, sudden injuries). Emergency departments are not outpatient clinics, so they do not treat stable cases. Emergency departments are located in hospitals that have adequate medical facilities and equipment. From July 2024, night and holiday medical services will be provided in the emergency departments.
