Adaptation centers for repatriates

Provide repatriates with accommodation, subsistence and the opportunity to participate in language courses during the first period after arrival in Poland.

Obtaining a decision on granting a place in an adaptation centre for repatriates is one of the ways to meet the conditions for obtaining a repatriation visa. The decision, with regard to the repatriate candidate and their relatives, is made by the Government Plenipotentiary for Repatriation within three years from the date of the consul’s decision to qualify for a national visa for repatriation. This period may be extended for another three years if there are no places in the centres.  The stay in the centre lasts up to 90 days from arrival in Poland (in special cases, this period may be extended by up to 90 days). The decision is made by the Government Plenipotentiary for Repatriation.

Entities running adaptation centres are selected through a competition by the Government Plenipotentiary for Repatriation.

Assistance provided by adaptation centres:

  1. accommodation in a room appropriate to the personal characteristics of the persons placed in the centre, in particular: age, sex and state of health;
  2. full-day board consisting of three meals, including one hot meal, and beverages;
  3. 24-hour access to facilities and equipment for self-preparation of meals;
  4. 24-hour access to hygiene and sanitation facilities and equipment;
  5. cleaning products necessary for personal hygiene, including those for minors;
  6. the possibility of making telephone calls at the centre’s own expense, and in particularly justified cases, at the expense of the centre, using equipment at the centre, including a fax machine;
  7. free access to broadband Internet;
  8. the opportunity to participate in adaptation and integration activities, as well as in activities that enable them to learn about Polish history, traditions and customs, as well as in Polish language and vocational courses.
